On that note, anyone working in graphical UI design (which includes
application theme-ing) should really read this:

It's a fairly brief and pithy guide to colour vision and colour
deficiency (which affects something on the order of 10% of people(!));
written from a UI-designer's perspective, with technical details about
what exactly is going on in both normal and colour-difficient vision,
and guidelines for developing safely-colourised user interfaces.
